About

The Tzu Chi Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine (also known as Tzu Chi Clinic or just TCC) is a not-for-profit organization born out of a collaboration between Tzu Chi Foundation Canada and Humber College. Opened in September 2018, TCC’s mission is to elevate the standards of practice in the field by making high-quality Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) accessible to the community, and through collaboration in education, research, and practice.

Our Primary Missions:

Education
  • We invite experienced TCM practitioners from all over the world to share their knowledge and research findings with both Humber students and local TCM professionals through seminars with case studies and live demonstrations.
  • We organize seminars tailored to different levels of TCM experience, from entry-level information sessions for the general public to advanced-level opportunities for practicing professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • We provide opportunities at the clinic for new practitioners to work alongside more experienced colleagues, allowing for practical learning and easy access to assistance with unfamiliar cases.
Research
  • In the future, the medical data and experiences from the cases we encounter can be used for further study and research in the field, enabling a more scientific approach to TCM.
Practice
  • We are gathering a strong team of TCM professionals who, as a collective, have extensive and varied experience that covers a broad spectrum of services and medical needs.

Tzu Chi Foundation Canada

Tzu Chi Clinic is operated by Tzu Chi Foundation Canada (also known as Tzu Chi Canada or TCFC), the Canadian arm of Taiwan’s Tzu Chi Foundation. TCFC is a registered charity that was founded in 1992 by Mr. Gary Ho, who was inspired by Dharma Master Cheng Yen to bring Tzu Chi’s Four Major Missions — Charity, Medicine, Education, and Culture — to the Great White North. From the national head office in Vancouver, Tzu Chi Canada’s volunteers and donors have brought their unconditional love and contributions to communities across the nation. Currently, Tzu Chi Canada has over 40,000 regular donors and over 2,200 volunteers with 9 offices in cities coast-to-coast, including Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, Calgary, Toronto, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Montreal, and Ottawa.

Humber TCMP Student Clinic

Located within Humber College’s North Campus, TCC also hosts the Humber TCMP Student Clinic. Treatment is provided by the students of Humber’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner advanced diploma program as part of their clinical placement requirements, under the care of Humber-selected supervisors with valid CTCMPAO* membership.
