Feel a Different Winter: 2025–2026 San Jiu Tie Program Is Coming

Winter is more than just cold weather, it is a critical season for strengthening the body’s foundation. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), winter is when the body conserves energy and builds reserves. How well you care for your health during this period can directly affect your immunity and overall well-being in the year ahead.

From December 22, 2025 to January 31, 2026, the 2025–2026 San Jiu Tie (三九貼) program returns at Tzu Chi Wellness Group (TCWG) and Traditional Chinese Medicine Ontario, “Feel a Different Winter.”

San Jiu Tie is a traditional TCM therapy applied during the coldest days of winter, known as the “San Jiu” period. Herbal patches are placed on specific acupuncture points to stimulate the body, warm the meridians, and strengthen defensive energy (衛氣 / Wei Qi).

This therapy has been used for generations to support:

Rather than treating symptoms after illness appears, San Jiu Tie focuses on prevention and strengthening from within.[1]

Why Winter Matters in TCM

In TCM theory, winter is associated with the Kidneys and the storage of vital energy. Cold weather can weaken the body’s defenses, making people more vulnerable to colds, flu, and chronic respiratory issues.[2] San Jiu Tie works in harmony with this seasonal rhythm by:

Many patients report fewer winter illnesses and improved overall energy after completing a full San Jiu Tie course.

Feel a Different Winter This Year

This winter, instead of bracing against the cold, imagine moving through the season with greater comfort, balance, and resilience.

The 2025–2026 San Jiu Tie program is designed for those who want to:

Everybody is different, and our practitioners assess each individual to ensure the treatment is suitable and personalized. San Jiu Tie is also suitable for children older than 3 years old, too.
